ARKITEKTSTUDIO aims to create a distinctive contemporary architecture. We invent a particular style for each project, customizing design for each particular site and client...

LUIS VICENTE FLORES
Architect and Urban Designer

Luis Vicente Flores establishes his professional practice in Mexico City in 1985. He studies architecture, urban design and regional planning in Mexico City, Edinburgh and Barcelona. He is a member of a breakthrough modernizing generation that emerges in the 90’s in “a” magazine. Together with a small group of Mexican architects he is a founding member of this significant publication. His professional practice is focused in conception and design of architectural and urban projects. His work comprises the whole process: from early conceptual work to detailed construction documents.

Some of his relevant works are: X’Teresa/Alternative Arts Center, National School of Dance and elModulon/Community Center.

As director of a large number of architectural projects, luisvicenteFlores has developed experience in coordinating groups of experts. He participates in candidate selection, evaluation of technical proposals and the follow-up of projects. As an anchor of his design team, he is informed and updated on both, theoretical and practical aspects related to architecture and urban design.

luisvicenteFlores has conducted research work as part of postgraduate courses. In the University of Edinburgh (1981) he leads a team commissioned to design a plan for a “new town” for a mining development in Carajas, Brazil. In 1983 he takes part in a seminar on the Historical Avant-garde Movement conducted by Eduard Subirats. In 1990 he gets the “young creators grant” of the Mexican Council for the Arts & Culture. During this period he does research on the architecture of museums and scenic spaces. In 2008-2011, he produces a series of concept urban sustainable prototype concept projects sponsored by FONCA (National Arts & Culture Fund).
